This week we will have a very important visitor to our classroom on Monday, our classroom baby Eli will visit us for the first time. We are excited about meeting him and can’t wait to watch him grow. Eli will be visiting us as part of the Roots of Empathy program that all first grades take part in at QAE. Here is a link to Roots of Empathy if you would like to familiarize yourself more with the program. http://www.rootsofempathy.org/
Last year was my first official experience with the program and I was amazed at the connection my students made with our class baby Austin. In fact, Austin’s sister is a student at QAE this year, so he is often on the playground and my former students still go to talk to Austin and his mom. The connection made was much deeper than I ever imagined. Eli and his mom, Lori will come to visit us once a month and during that time we will learn about where he is developmentally and we will make predictions on where he will be the next time we see him. I am excited to begin our friendship with Eli and Lori! Please make sure to talk with your child about his visit.
Upcoming this week:
