First of all, thank you to everyone who participated in the bake sale! We raised $880 for Dwankhozi Hope! All week long, the students were super excited to host the sale-what a fun event to have to benefit a great organization.
This week will be a busy one. We have a birding field trip on Friday to Magnuson Park. As of right now, we currently do not have enough drivers, if you would like to come, please sign up on volunteer spot.
We are also continuing to dive deep into our “For the Birds” project. Last week, we broke into different types of bird groups (City Birds, Birds of Prey, Owls (for group purposes, owls will be separate from birds of prey), Shore Birds, Hummingbirds/Woodpeckers). Students will work in these groups through the remainder of the project. This week groups researched and explored different artifacts from their bird group through Audubon Society bird artifacts, books and using our Ipads to research birds that interested individuals. This coming week, each student will select a bird to become an expert on. The goal is for every students to select their own bird, however, sometimes there is some slight overlap. Once students have selected their birds, they will work with their group and on their own to become experts. Get ready to learn a lot about birds from your child!
Finally thank you to everyone who has written/is writing me a letter for my National Boards. These letters mean a great deal to me and I am incredibly thankful to have such a supportive, kind class.
