In light of the tragedy this week, the newsletter will be brief. On Friday, a note went home with students about the Sandy Hook tragedy. We did not discuss the event in the classroom so students were unaware of the event when they went home on Friday. I hope as families, you were able to discuss the event together.
In other news, on Friday we wrapped up our PBL "What's the past got to do with us?" project at the Manor. Six students from each class presented what they learned during their time at the Manor, we sang a song and ate a snack with the residents. It was a great way to wrap up the project and say thank you to the residents of Queen Anne Manor. We will continue to make monthly trips to the Manor throughout the rest of the year to maintain the relationships we have developed. I will keep you posted on upcoming trips when they are schedule.
This week the fourth graders are collecting money to benefit members of the Queen Anne community who need a little extra support this holiday season. We have a collection box in the classroom and students are encouraged to bring some change to donate.
